Pity Post

Now, when I say "pity post" I don't mean that no one besides Lora has posted since January. I mean pity me and pity me now please, pretty please, whimper and whine, whimper and whine.
I am sitting here at 36 weeks + 1 day pregnant and I am miserable. Up until last week everything was peachy. All of a sudden the child has decided to grow like a weed. My slight pregnant belly that I was secretly proud of has ballooned into a WHOA BABY you are pregnant. Those of you that read my personal blog (blog.wineplease.org) know that not but a few weeks ago I was complaining about not looking pregnant. Well those days are freaking O-V-E-R!

The kid weighs nearly 7 pounds according to the ultrasound and as a result my sciatic nerve is very unhappy. In the morning I am alright, but then after lunch my back is killing me and I can barely walk. That is a joy to add to my absolute phobia of waddling like a big, fat, pregnant lady. Does it help that I was overweight to begin with? Not at all. My belly pokes at farther than my boobs.

If that wasn't enough here is the real pity part. All I wanted in this world today was to come home from work and take a nice almost too warm bath. The water feels great on my back and the water relieves the stress on my back. Could I get the water warm at all. Hell no. So I had to drag myself up and take a lukewarm shower just to finish the bathing portion and get out.
The saving grace of this day is that I had a nice baby shower at work, and my lovely husband is bringing dinner home.
Amen.

A little help from my friends...

Not to sound like an idiot or anything...but how do you post the new logo into your template? I am just not that HTML savvy. It is probably a cinch, but I am terrified I will screw it up and lose my blog into the Internet super universe. Help!

hello?

over a month gone by and no one posted.

And I got snitty at Dave the other day when he said that I was failing miserably at keeping this thing going because I cancelled a few times in a row.

Screw that. The weather sucked. People died. I was tired.

The non-profit is still in the works, somewhere. I have to pick a font and a logo and I want Dave to do a little legal checking over before I get in over my head.

Also, Crab Chili this week! Just wait ladies. Canned crustation has never wowed you like it will wow you Wednesday. For those who participate the world over, this is so easy to make and delicious. You really can't screw it up. Dunkin Donuts has some decent cornbread muffins that I like to crumble in there. But this week the lovely Samantha will be making some Trader Joe's cornbread that I picked up the other day. This is how the world works. I want something so I buy it raw and push it off on someone else to do the dirty work.

Finally, I am adding new links over there on the right. Diane and Samantha have both given into the siren call of blogging.

Best. Spag. Ever.

Spag (or veggie lasagna) is best when served without children. It's a bitchy thing to say but you know you were thinking it. Lora made a fantastic lasagna for dinner and for dessert we had hot chocolate spiked with peppermint schnapps. Lily is still banned from spaghetti, Jake was on a date with his aunt and the rest of the ladies are always child free. It was magical.

bad, fat friend

I'll bring the schnapps and the skim, let me know what kind of cocoa you like and I'll bring that too. I haven't been pulling my weight around here, regifted bad wine and already opened cookies are an outrage! What kind of friend/guest am I why do I continue to get an invite?

I enjoy the portion of the evening when we complain about being fat. It is entertaining to listen to not really fat, fat girls talk about the ridiculous amount of food we consume. Honestly, I should be way fatter than I am. I ate 1 heaping bowl of spag (as opposed to my usual 2 or 3 but I had a late lunch) covered in cheese, a half block of cheese coated in oil, a half loaf of bread dipped in a cup of oil, a half jar of nutella and not a shred of lettuce in sight. I would have had a half bottle of bad wine to wash it all down if it weren't for those pesky brats always killing my buzz. I am constantly bitching about not being able to eat like I used to. Seriously???
